Ridge and Valley Loops are both surrounded by ponderosa and spruce trees, but Sage Loop has more limited shade. Pups are welcome to join you in this fun-filled campground on-leash, and the daily fee for this campground is $24 for the Sage Loop and $23 for the Ridge and Valley Loops.

While you’re at White Star, you’ll find tons of great things to do with your furry best friend. If you and your dog enjoy hiking together, the Continental Divide Trail passes right by the campground. This trail runs all the way from Mexico to Canada, and around 300 miles of the trail pass through Colorado. The portion of the trail that’s near White Star takes you past scenic Twin Lakes and by some of the area’s stunning mountains.

White Star is also just a short drive from the North Mount Ebert Trail. This 10.3-mile trail takes you to the peak of Mount Ebert, and it has an elevation gain of 4,442 feet. As you’re hiking this trail, you’ll get amazing views of the surrounding mountain peaks, and you’ll also pass fields filled with lovely wildflowers. You and your dog will both enjoy this challenging and beautiful hike.

If you enjoy fishing, White Star is also a good choice for you. If you’re bringing a boat, there’s a boat ramp available in the campground. You can also try your luck fishing for rainbow and mackinaw trout from the lakeshore. You can then grill your catches on your campsite’s personal campfire ring.

White Star is a furrific campground filled with great amenities for you and your dog. Be sure to bring doggy bags with you so you can clean up after your dog during your trip, and have a great time camping here!
