Allegheny Commons Park or West Park Off Leash Area

The Allegheny Commons Park, also known as the West Park Off-Leash Dog Area is a beautiful place for dogs to enjoy nature. This lovely park has plenty of land for dogs to run free and get plenty of exercise. It also has a pond for the dogs to swim and splash around in the water. 

This dog park is great to visit daily and gives your dogs the opportunity to run around as much as they desire. Your dogs need to have their vaccination and license tags on their collar when visiting this park. The area is vast and doesn’t have a fence, so make sure your dogs are well trained to assure they return to you if they run too far in the distance. 

Pet parents are responsible for their dogs. You need to bring doggie waste bags to clean up after your dogs. Owners also need to remove their dogs from the park if they are showing aggression towards others. All pet parents are responsible for the actions and behavior of your dogs. Keep your dogs on a leash in crowded areas if your dog tends to get nervous in social settings. 

The pond area is an excellent place to play catch with your dog. You can throw the ball into the shallow end of the pond so your dog can swim a little bit. The water access is magnificent on hot days when your dog needs to cool off. Dogs that don’t swim well should wear a doggie life vest when playing in the water to prevent drowning.
