Has your furry friend been a good dog? Then reward them with unfettered time at the Arbor Lodge Park Off-Leash Area! Tucked in the northwest corner of the 9-acre Arbor Lodge Park, this 1-acre, unfenced puppy playground is a pawsome spot for your pooch to stretch their legs and interact with other doggos!
You and Fido can easily find the OLA immediately west of the park tennis courts. This grassy, no-frills space gives Portland pups plenty of room to romp and chase each other, so even high-energy canines will be tuckered out after spending some time here. Trees provide ample shade on sunny days, while picnic tables offer dog parents places to sit. Be sure to keep an eye on your furry charge at all times, as the area is bounded by a paved path that is used by cyclists. Mutt mitts and water are not supplied, so don't forget to bring your own!
As with the rest of the park, the OLA opens early and closes late, making it pawfect for dog parents who work long hours. Just remember to note the seasonal hours, and to play quietly in the early morning and evening so as not to disturb the park neighbors.
If your pup is up for more activity after romping in the off-leash area, clip on their leash and go for a stroll around Arbor Lodge Park. This is one of three Portland parks that is certified pesticide- and herbicide-free, so you can rest easy as your pooch sniffs around the site. In addition to being chemical-free for over a decade, Arbor Lodge boasts more than 120 trees from 20 species, making it a puptastic place to walk your doggo at any time of the day!
