Argay Park Off Leash Dog Area

The Argay Park Off-Leash Dog Area is a public section of the Argay Park located in Portland, Oregon that is open for dogs to enjoy without having to wear a leash. In addition to the off-leash area, the nine-acre Argay Park features play areas, sports fields, picnic areas, and plenty of paved and unpaved paths that leashed dogs are welcome on.

The off-leash dog area can be found on the south-west side of the Argay Park, and it is over half-an-acre in size. Although dogs are welcome to roam and explore without a leash, they need to be under strict voice command, especially since the off-leash area is not fenced. 

The leash-free area is open to dogs of all breeds and sizes to enjoy and play in together. It is clean and well-maintained since most patrons do a great job at cleaning up after their canine companions. There are several trash cans that can be found throughout the Argay Park. 

However, owners do need to bring their own dog waste bags when they visit the Argay Park. There are mature trees growing throughout the park, and the off-leash area is equipped with several benches for dog owners to relax on as they watch their four-legged friends play and explore. 

Since the park is quite wooded, there is plenty of shade for canines to enjoy and cool off in. Owners need to sure to bring water and a bowl for their pooches as there are no canine drinking fountains available at the park. In addition, there is a beautiful flower garden that can be found at the entrance of the park every year. 

The Argay Park is a great location for leashed walks and off-leash exercise for dogs who listen to their owners and enjoy sniffing around and exploring. However, if you are looking for a place to play games of fetch or schedule playdates, it might not be the best dog park for you as it is not fenced.
