BARK Park (at Rockwell Park)

If your canine BFF is getting antsy from staying indoors all day, then an off-leash romp at the dog park is in order. For Bristol pups, there's no better place to blow off steam than BARK Park, located within picturesque Rockwell Park. With its uneven, snifftastic terrain, it's the pawfect spot for high-energy doggos to get all the wiggles out. So leash up your pooch and hop into the car—it's time to head to BARK Park!

This furrific pooch playground features two separate areas for large and little canines. Pups who are 18 inches or shorter at the shoulder are recommended to stick to the small dog side, while everyone else goes to the big dog side. BARK Park sits on a wooded hillside, giving four-legged visitors a steep incline to run up and down, plus lots of interesting scents to check out. Dogs are able to navigate the slope more easily than humans, so you can expect to get a good workout in as well. Furtunately, benches are provided if you need a place to sit and rest your feet.

With several trees keeping most of the area nicely shaded, your pup should be just fine playing at the park even on warm days. There is no water available on-site, though, so remember to bring your own regardless of weather. Have some doggie waste bags handy as well, and be sure to stoop and scoop when Fido heeds nature's call!

Your pooch is welcome to explore the rest of Rockwell Park with you, but must remain leashed once they set paw outside the dog park. Go for a stroll on the trails, and pawse at the pond and bridges to enjoy the woofderful views. Keep your eyes peeled for the birds, chipmunks, and other small animals that live in the park, too.
