The Bowman Dog Park, affectionately known as “Bark Park” in Bowman, ND is located North West where 5th street meets 4th avenue. This well maintained and under advertised space is a gorgeous place to take your furry friend in any weather. You and Fido can get to the park by crossing over the railway line using the Theodore Roosevelt Expressway then taking a left down 4th Street SW then taking the second right at 6th Avenue, which will take you onto 5th street where the park will be on your right.
The park displays the characteristic conditions of Bowman, meaning it is quiet but friendly. At 600 square meters, this is definitely a big enough park to give you and your dog regular exercise. However, it is likely you will get to know every nook and cranny quite quickly. There is plenty of room to play fetch with a ball or frisbee, but you should bring your own as the park does not provide them.
There are plenty of large trees to decrease the often windy conditions or shelter from the rain while your dog makes good use of the open play area. They take excellent care of the walking trails, and there are quite a few places for you to sit down while Fido plays. As always, of course, it is important to clean up after your dog and use the bins provided.
Since there is no mention of available drinking water, it is best if you bring water for both you and your four-legged friend. There are designated off-leash areas, making the Bark Park a location that Bowman’s resident dog owners are very proud of. This park was funded by local government and is relatively new so pay it a visit and show that small towns benefit from having good dog walking spaces.
