Lincoln Dog Park - Grand Forks is located, as its name implies, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Its creation was highly-requested by the community and funded by the City of Grand Forks, the Grand Forks Park District, and the Roaming Paws Dog Park advocacy group.Â
This 2.75-acre off-leash dog park was opened in June of 2008 and has since brought tons of tail-wagging joy to the four-legged members of the community thanks to its convenient location.Â
The dog park is fenced and consists of a simple, spacious rectangular layout with several benches and picnic tables spread out around the area. There are two fenced areas, one for small dogs and the other to accommodate the larger hounds.
There are a few tall trees, shaded areas, and a drinking fountain for both dogs and their owners to enjoy. Since there are no entrance fees the park can get a little crowded, especially during the peak hours.Â
On the other hand, since it is open on all the days of the week it is possible to find a less busy time and even schedule a one-on-one playdate in the park for your pooch.
Unfortunately, the waste bins are sparse and inconveniently located (outside the dog park area) so make sure to bring your own waste disposal bag and watch your step.
There are restrooms and picnic facilities close by making this park a great place to enjoy with your family and four-legged friends.
To ensure the well-being and safety of all park goers, there are a few ground rules. All dogs in the fenced areas need to be licensed, vaccinated and supervised by their owners at all times.Â
Dogs must be above the age of 4 months to enter and female dogs in heat as well as unneutered dogs are not allowed to enter the park. Make sure to visit this spacious, conveniently located park if you are in the area as the dog owners are said to be very welcoming!
