Barnett Dog Park

Barnett Park is a gem for Orlando residents and visitors, featuring vast tracts of open green space, pavilions and picnic areas, lots of sports including disc golf, a BMX bike track, basketball, tennis, and softball, and more! With trails to walk, lakes to admire and plenty of wildlife, you can really lose an entire day in this oasis. Best of all for pups, this furbulous park even has a spot just for them!

While dogs are allowed throughout Barnett Park on leash, a hidden section on the western side of the larger lake features two fenced-in play spaces just for pups! The Barnett Dog Park is the pawfect place to let your canine pal run without a leash, and since it's tucked away from the busier areas of the park, it's quiet and relaxing too! With separate large and small dog sections, every dog can feel safe playing with their own sized peers. Double-gated entries provide the premium in pup safety, just be sure your dog keeps the leash on when entering and exiting the dog park. 

Benches offer a great place to relax while keeping an eye on your playful pup, and clean-up bags and trash cans are provided, making it easy to scoop and dispose anything your dog leaves behind. Unfurtunately, while the big dog section has some shade, the small dog side is pretty open to the sun, so you may want to steer clear on exceptionally hot days. Both sides are covered in a mix of grass and dirt which is easy on the paws! And there's even a human restroom near the dog park for your convenience. 

The dog park really is a hidden gem, and you may have a hard time finding it. Head right to the parking lot located at the corner of Dolores Drive and Ferrand Drive, where you'll be able to spot the gated areas across the water. You can walk the long way around, or head over one of the footbridges, and follow the path to off leash freedom! 

As with any dog park, be sure your dog is fully vaccinated before heading over, and wearing current ID tags. Keep the leash in hand whenever your dog is off leash, and keep any and all food out of the fenced areas.
