Belfast Dog Park (at Walsh Field Recreation Area)

The Belfast Dog Park is a public dog park located at the Walsh Field Recreation Area in Belfast, Maine. In addition to the dog park, the Walsh Field Recreation Area, which was donated by the Bank of America in 2007, is home to a baseball and softball field, public restrooms, and a Little River Community trail. The dog park was opened in August 2008 and has since become a popular destination among dog owners living in the area. 

The one-and-a-half-acre dog park in Belfast, Maine features everything you would want in a dog park and more. It has a well-designed layout that is made up of two separate areas for dogs to enjoy without a leash. There is a small dog area for breeds under 25 pounds and a large dog run for those above, both of which are open all year round and provide a safe, fenced environment for dogs to exercise and socialize in off-leash. The dog park’s terrain is grassy but well-groomed. 

This highly-rated dog park is equipped with motion-activated water fountains and water bowls, so owners don’t have to worry about their pooches staying hydrated when they visit the dog park. The dog park features kiddie pools during the summer months, so pack a towel and watch as your canine companion takes a dip to cool off. Benches are available in the off-leash areas, as well as covered seating in a gazebo that shelters dog owners from both sun and rain. 

In addition to the above, there are several toys scattered throughout the Belfast Dog Park that dogs are welcome to play with and share.
