Is your pooch itching to ditch the leash? Canines yearning for unfettered exercise and play are very furtunate to have the Big Sky Park Off-Leash Area. Located within the Big Sky Park and Luke Damon Youth Sports Complex, this pawsome site offers furry parkgoers 12 acres to sniff and explore without the constraints of a leash, making it a pawfect puppy paradise!
First-time visitors may have a hard time finding the dog park as it is not clearly marked. To get to the off-leash area, head to the east side of the complex and park by the soccer field. Follow the trail off to the right until you reach the dog park, which comprises fenced and unfenced areas. If your pup is still working on their recall, you may want to stick to the fenced portion for the meantime. Regardless of which section you use, there is more than enough room for your pooch to run around, as well as lots of interesting sights and smells to keep them entertained.Â
Whether your furry charge is doing sprints on the grass or exploring the walking trails, be sure to stay in sight and voice control at all times. Good news for water-loving doggos: one of the trails leads down to a small pond where they can doggie paddle and play fetch in the water. Don't forget to bring a towel to dry Fido off, unless you want a damp woofer in the car! Visitors say that drinking water is available seasonally, so remember to pack your own in the winter when the spigot is turned off. Whichever parts of the park you find yourselves in, always pick up after your pupper and drop the waste bag in a trash receptacle.Â
For a furrific, leash-free time in Bend, let your canine BFF roam to their heart's content in the Big Sky Park Off-Leash Area!
