Ponderosa Community Dog Park

The Ponderosa Community Dog Park finds its home on the family-friendly Ponderosa Community Park space in Bend, Oregon. Nestled within an older section of Bend quite near to the well-known Bear Creek elementary school, this dedicated dog playground offers two fenced areas suitable for off-leash activity, proper socialization opportunities, and general play. 

Small, senior, and shy dogs often benefit from an enclosure designed specifically to meet their needs. With this in mind, the Ponderosa Community Dog Park officials have included a run exclusively for their use at this dog park. Here, a gentler play style reigns. Since conflict can arise between dogs in an off-leash area, owners must assist park officials in providing a safe space for all dogs to enjoy. 

It is mandatory that all owners carefully monitor their dogs as well as keep a lead in their possession. Oregon state law also requires that dogs remain on a lead when not in a designated off-leash zone. Ponderosa Community Dog Park, a public facility, is pleased to open their grounds to all people and their pooches free of charge. 

The runs contain many features sure to enhance Fido and his family's trip to the park. These include the following items: benches, poop bags, and on-site bathroom facilities. It is not known if water is provided at this public dog play haven. It is best to bring some from home to ensure Fido's hydration needs are met. It is also important to note that all pet waste removal is to be facilitated by owners. 

Visitors have remarked that parking can be difficult to find at certain times of the day. Ponderosa Community Park also offers many great recreational opportunities for families to enjoy. Among the outdoor attractions are a baseball field, pickleball, a skate park, basketball courts, a playground, a walking trail, and a covered picnic area.
