Is your furry friend itching to ditch the leash? Then let them run loose at the Blue Skies Dog Park! Located within the 11-acre, aviation-themed Blue Skies Park in southwestern Longmont, this puppy playground offers a safe environment for your canine BFF to stretch their legs and blow off steam without the constraints of a leash. It's also a pawtastic spot for meeting new pals!
Nestled along the northern edge of Blue Skies, the dog park comprises one fenced area for doggos of all shapes and sizes. Since there is no separate section for petite pooches, see to it that your pup minds their manners, especially around smaller or timid woofers. Always keep an eye on your furry charge, even while you're relaxing on one of the picnic tables. The park's linear design makes it a pawfect stomping ground for canines who love to sprint and dash around. However, there are no agility obstacles or other bells and whistles at this no-frills facility, so it would be a good idea to bring a ball or frisbee to keep your pup entertained.
Be sure to stoop and scoop if Fido goes to the bathroom; you'll find bag dispensers and trash cans at either end of the park. Water is not provided, though, so remember to bring your own. You might want to have a few wet wipes handy as well, as the gravel surface could cause dusty paws. Another impawtant thing to note is that shade is limited in the area, so it's recommended to drop by early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the sun isn't too strong. Last but not least, make sure your best friend is licensed and vaccinated before you bring them to the dog park!
