Dog Park #1 on the corner of 21st Avenue and Frances Street in Longmont, Colorado is a no-frills, open field perfect for dogs to run around. The park comprises two fenced enclosures that are joined together with an internal gate. For this reason, Dog Park #1 comes highly recommended for canines who prefer to be around other pups that are similar in size.
The enclosures are divided into two categories: general doggos and small puppers. Other friendly dogs frequent this space, so obstacle courses need not apply to have a good time here. One suggestion is for owners to bring ample water since there isn't supply at the park. Feel free to share extra water with others who may have forgotten to bring their own since dogs are known to enjoy running around in the shadeless space.
Even though the park area remains mostly maintained do be aware of weather since lots of rain will make for a muddy mess after hanging out at Dog Park #1. While the pups are off playing, mingle with the other dog owners at the two picnic tables. Once the dogs have been tuckered out, give them time to rest their legs before heading back to the car.
The nearest parking lot is at least two blocks away at Carr Park across the street. Before visiting Dog Park #1, please make note of a few housekeeping rules. Make sure dogs are vaccinated and licensed. Also, please keep your dog leashed until acclimated with others in the park.
Most importantly, do not leave your dog unattended. This is a neighborhood park, so patrons are known to keep it clean and pick up after the dogs. If visiting, please be courteous by helping to maintain the park grounds. It is no secret that everyone leaves happy from Dog Park #1, be sure to check it out.
