Dog Park #2 - Longmont

The Longmont Dog Park #2 located in Longmont, Colorado is very similar to Longmont Dog Park #1, which is about an eight-minute drive away. There are several differences so we will get into those here. The Longmont Dog Park #2 is about 0.2 miles away from the corner of Airport Road and Saint Vrain Road giving it just enough distance from a major intersection. 

This tidy little dog park is near the Public Works Operations Facility (PWOF), and several other businesses, making it a convenient pit stop if Fido comes to the office or runs errands with you for the day. There are two separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs at the Longmont Dog Park #2 to keep each play section fair and safe. The small dog area is also good for elderly or shy dogs. 

There is running water available between April and October, so if you visit during the winter, consider bringing your own. For dogs who love obstacle courses, there are a few small play areas that include tunnels, balance boards, and an agility section. If Fido prefers to play fetch, the dog park is large enough for you to throw the ball as far as you and your dog would like.

People can sit on benches and soak in the view of the mountains; however, it is not advised to stay past sunset since no lights are surrounding the park. Come here during daylight, and there will almost always be other dogs around so if your pup enjoys socializing with other dogs, this will turn into his new favorite haunt! The park occasionally closes for maintenance allowing the grass to grow. 

If that is ever the case, make the short drive over to Dog Park #1 in the interim. There are no poop bags available so please keep some handy to help keep the park clean. Similar to the rules at the other Longmont Dog Park, pups must be vaccinated and licensed. Also, keep each dog on a leash until acclimated to others in the park. Most importantly, do not leave your dog unattended. This popular weekend hangout will be a hit with all dogs!
