Bring your dog along for the adventure at Chickasaw State Park. Your dogs are welcome as long as you keep them on a leash and show proof of current vaccination and license. You can display the tags on your dog's collar when visiting the park. An identification tag with updated contact information is also recommended in case your dog accidentally gets lost at the park.
As a pet parent, you need to take care of your dog and avoid leaving them in a hot car. Park rules say any dog left in a hot car or RV will be confiscated for health and safety reasons. Make sure you visit the park with the intention to spend time with your dog. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed in swimming areas, stores, food service areas, bathhouses or on the horseback and bike riding trails.
You and your dog will have a great time in this park. You can participate in numerous activities such as zip lines, trails, golfing, fishing, horseback riding, biking picnic tables, grills, and dining. The campgrounds welcome dogs and offer pet-friendly cabins and sites. You need to act quickly and make reservations in advance to assure you get pet-friendly accommodations.
There are modern campsites available to make it easier to care for your dog. The park also has a wading pool, playgrounds, rental pavilions and lots of space. It’s best to keep your dog on a leash at all times during your visit to the park. There are lots of wildlife to see such as wild turkeys, quail, and deer.
During migration season you have the opportunity to see bird breeds such as indigo buntings, white-eyed vireos, northern flickers, palm warblers, ruby-crowned kinglets and others. Overall, this is an excellent park to visit with your dog. You can get plenty of fresh air and leave the stress behind in the big city.
