Clinton State Park

Clinton State Park is nestled on the northern shore of Clinton Lake. This beautiful natural space sprawls across 1,500 acres of land, giving your doggo plenty of room to roam. If your pal is in the mood for some outdoor fun, grab the leash and make your way to this furrific park!

Your pooch will be pleased to know that there are over 20 miles of trails in Clinton State Park. Hop on the Blue, Red, or White Trails to give your doggo some much needed exercise. If they prefer more lakefront scenery, stick to the Blue Trail. Follow the Red Trail for ravines that head away from the lake. There is also a short self-guided walk called Prairieview Nature Trail. Since all trails are multi-use, keep your eyes and ears open for mountain bikers.

If your pup wants to sleep under the stars, bring a couple sleeping bags and grab one of the park’s campsites. There are three campgrounds and over 400 sites to choose from! Both RV and tent sites are available. After a long day of exploring, your pooch will want nothing more than to head back to camp and relax by the fire.

Hiking and camping aren’t the only things to do at this park. Also housed on the grounds are an archery range, two disc golf courses, sand volleyball courts, and a mountain bike skills course. For those who love fishing, the lake is full of catfish, walleye, and crappie. And a three-acre pond teeming with trout and a one-acre pond for children are also available.  

Clean up bags are not provided, so be sure to bring some from home. You’ll definitely want to carry some bug spray during the summer months. And don’t forget to check your pal for any bites. Make no mistake; your pup will go mutts over Clinton State Park!
