Wyandotte County Lake Off Leash Area

Wyandotte County, Kansas boasts that they are the second most diverse county in the United States, and with their love of diversity also comes their love for our paw friends. Wyandotte County was named after the Indians who once lived in the area and had close relations with the Iroquois Indians. Today it is a bubbling county filled with businesses, things to do, and some pretty incredible nature walks and parks.

Wyandotte County Lake Off-Leash Area for dogs is located within the county park named Wyandotte County Lake And Park. This county park is roughly 1500 acres of woods and a 400-acre lake. You will find a marina here with boat rentals, a playground, a kids fishing area, concession stands, the off-leash area, and a whole other slew of activities and outdoor fun. 

If you have a love for nature or lakes, you have come to the right place. The off-leash area for dogs is near the archery within this county park. It is actually just a giant field where your dog can run and socialize and have a bit of fun. It is not enclosed so be sure that your dog is good with voice commands. 

There are restrooms within the park near shelters and the lake. Your dog is also allowed on the trails around the lake, however, should be leashed when not in the off-leash area. Within the county park, there is also a dock and a lake area that you and your dog are welcome to enjoy and possibly get in a good swim.

Your dog should be properly licensed and vaccinated when entering the park and the off-leash area. Also, be sure to help keep the park clean by cleaning up any messes made by you or your pup. Wyandotte County Lake and Park are well-maintained and beautiful.
