When your dog needs to get out of the house in Ridgefield, the Fairgrounds Community Park is just waiting to be discovered. So far, this park spans across 30 acres of an 88-acre parcel of land. While construction has been ongoing, this park already offers a ton of pawsome features for you and your leashed pup to enjoy! Plenty of parking is available on site, so pack up your doggo for a day of adventure!
The Fairgrounds Community Park is filled with areas to discover, from open green space, to forest and wetlands. Need to get the wiggles out of your pup? Head down one of the walking and biking trails. You can stay on the concrete paths, or forge your own way in the sprawling areas of trees where you can leave behind the sights and sounds of the city. Check out the wetlands for unique wildlife.
If you have kids with your pack, head to the playground and basketball courts. Spend the afternoon roaming the landscaped lawns, or take a break at the picnic tables for a meal or a snack. Picnic areas and shelters offer electricity, and one has a grill for some puptastic outdoor cooking. The East Shelter and West Shelter picnic pavilions can even be reserved for parties and events between May and September. Benches are scattered throughout the park for some relaxing people-watching too.
There are restrooms for the humans in your family, but be sure to bring clean-up bags to pick up whatever your pup puts down. Drinking fountains are on site, so pack a bowl for your pup's convenience.
For a day of exploration and relaxation with your furry bestie, head over to the lovely Fairgrounds Community Park.
