Connell Dog Park - Scranton

The Connell Dog Park is a spacious fenced-in property that is designated for dogs to run off-leash. Pet parents are required to keep their dog on a leash before and after the visit to the dog park for safety reasons. However, once you are inside the dog park gate, you can remove the leash and allow your dog to run free and play. 

License and vaccination tags are required for all dogs that enter the park. Tags need to be placed on your dog’s collar for other pet parents to see and feel assured your dog is healthy. Aggressive dogs are not welcome at the canine park. Dogs that exhibit unacceptable behavior need to be escorted off the property by their owner immediately. 

Leashing your dog and removing them from the situation is in the best interest of everyone involved. Dogs that bite or cause injury or damage need to be stopped, and pet parents need to remedy the issue directly with the other party involved. This dog park is picturesque and has many trees in the surrounding area. 

It’s great for pet parents that like to relax while surrounded by nature but at the same time don’t want to worry their dog is going to run away. The fenced-in area keeps your dog safe, but you should always keep a close eye on them anyway. Owners that enjoy playing a game of fetch with their dog will be happy to learn there is plenty of room at this park. 

Sometimes you will have the park all to yourself, but on busy days you need to be prepared for other dogs to join in the fun. Dogs that are possessive of their toys might not want to share with other so make sure you don’t put your dog in a negative situation. Overall, this is a lovely dog park that you can frequently visit with your dog.
