Though there is no designated area for off-leash dog play, the fenced enclosure is large enough to provide ample space for all dogs to enjoy a good romp. The play space is a designated off-leash zone; however, in accordance with New York state legislation, all dogs must be leashed in all other areas of the park. Owners are also asked to retain a lead with them at all times in case of an emergency.
Comprised of a fully fenced play area, Cooper Dog Park is renowned for its cleanliness. Visitors to this park state that it is impeccably maintained. Benches are provided in shaded areas to allow owners a place to relax while observing their dogs at play. While there are no bathroom facilities directly within the dog park, Cooper Park offers several nearby.
Entrance to this public space is free of charge. It is unknown if water is provided on site to address Fido's hydration needs. For this reason, owners are asked to bring a bottle of water and appropriate drinking vessel with them. It is also now known if poop bags are provided on the premises. However, New York by-laws mandate that all owners must carry bags with them to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste materials.
In accordance with New York state legislation, it is required that all dogs attending the dog park be current on vaccinations and licensed with the city.
