Dakota Memorial Dog Park (at Pacific Community Park)

Dakota Memorial Dog Park is a beautiful, off-leash dog park located within the 56-acre Pacific Community Park in Mill Plain, Washington. In addition to the large dog park, there are two basketball courts, playgrounds, a skatepark, and a community garden. It is truly a great location to spend an entire day with your family and canine buddy which is why this park is so popular and highly rated by the community. The Dakota Memorial Dog Park was named in honor of Dakota, a fallen local police dog who died in the line of duty. 

This fully fenced, off-leash dog park consists of eight acres of land and can be easily found on the north side of the Pacific Community Park, right between the two spacious parking lots. The dog park can be easily accessed through one of the two double-gated entranced and it includes a vast green field of open space, a dog agility course, and some forested areas that dogs can freely sniff around in and explore.There is also a smaller enclosure that enables small dog breeds to run around without a leash in a safe environment. While having this much space to freely roam around in is every dog’s dream, owners do need to keep up with their dogs to have them in sight at all times.

The off-leash area is equipped with several drinking fountains for people and their four-legged counterparts. There is also a dog washing area on the west side of the park, right by the restrooms. Dog waste bag dispensers are always filled in this well-maintained park and can be found next to the trash cans that are generously placed along the length of the dog park.

In addition to the above, there are gravel walking trails running around the dog park as well as throughout the entire community park. There are also a lot of shaded benches and picnic tables scattered around the park so seating is never a problem. The Dakota Memorial Dog Park is definitely worth a visit, especially if you live in the area and want your pooch to make some canine friends and have a good time.
