Dash Point State Park
For those with the need to explore, take to one of the hiking trails. Meandering through the forest are 8 miles of biking trails and 11 miles of hiking trails, pawfect to tire out your adventure pup. Over 70 picnic tables and 2 covered shelters offer furbulous places to take a rest or enjoy a meal in the trees. An amphitheater is even on site for events.
Overnight guests can find woofderful choices for their stay. Between utility campsites that can accomodate RVs, standard campsites and cabins, there's something for every taste. Dogs are allowed in all the sites, and even in one of the cabins! Reservations can be made on the Dash Point State Park's main website or in the park's main office. Bathrooms and showers are nearby, as well as picnic areas.
The shoreline and beach bring in most of the visitors to this pawsome park. With a developed beach and miles of undeveloped shoreline backed by a forest of trees, there are opportunities for lots of water fun, including fishing, swimming, kayaking, and more. Note that your dog is not allowed in any designated swimming areas, which would include the main beach area. However, you can romp and splash in the water on shoreline areas not designated for swimming with your pup. The water isn't deep here, so while you can wade in, don't expect to be submerged.
When visiting this gorgeous park, be sure to keep your dog on a leash at all times. Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park. Bring everything you'll need for a fun and safe adventure, including water to share with your thirsty pup, and clean-up bags. Always pick up after your pup and keep this park dog-friendly. To access this park, you'll also need a Discover Pass, which runs $10 for the day, or $30 for the year.
