Denham Springs Dog Park (at South Park)

The Denham Springs Dog Park is a public dog park located at the South Park in Denham Springs, Louisiana. In addition to the dog park, the 60-acre South Park is home to outdoor basketball courts, a horse riding facility, a playground, and several pavilions. 

The off-leash Denham Springs Dog Park is three acres in size and provides more than enough room for dogs to run around, play and socialize. It is securely fenced and has a double-gated entry system in place which helps minimize the risk of dogs slipping out as other patrons enter the park. 

The dog park has a simple but well-thought-out layout consisting of two separate areas. One section is meant for small dog breeds while the other accommodates the large hounds and those that can keep up with them. Both areas are grassy, and there are occasional puddles in the large dog area so make sure to bring a towel for your dog's paws, especially if it rained the night before. 

Luckily, there is also a washing station with a hose at the dog park which enables owners to clean their dogs up a bit before heading back home. The park is lined with mature trees that provide a good amount of shade for dogs to enjoy and rest in. There are also a few metal picnic tables for dog owners to relax on as they watch their dogs play and explore. 

The Denham Springs Dog Park at South Park is equipped with water fountains. However, owners need to bring their own water bowls as the water buckets often go missing. Free waste bag dispensers are available at the park, as well as plenty of conveniently placed trash cans.
