When you come to visit DeSoto State Park, you will find many different types of amenities that are available for your enjoyment. There are picnic pavilions, picnic tables, a playground, meeting rooms, a restaurant, a swimming pool, a nature center, interpretive programs, a museum, hiking trails, biking trails, and an ADA-accessible boardwalk.
There is also a diverse variety of recreational activities that you can take part in. Dogs can visit this park as well, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay. During your stay at DeSoto State Park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Alabama Parks and Recreation System.
Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home. Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to DeSoto State Park as this park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here.
Humans should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in DeSoto State Park. If you wish to camp, you must schedule a reservation.
