DeSoto State Park

DeSoto State Park sits in the northern region of Alabama, and it surrounds many gorgeous views for your satisfaction. It is the perfect place to visit on any day. This park is over 3,500 acres large, and there have been many restorations that were made by the Civilian Conservation Corps. These restorations will help keep the park in good condition for years to come. 

When you come to visit DeSoto State Park, you will find many different types of amenities that are available for your enjoyment. There are picnic pavilions, picnic tables, a playground, meeting rooms, a restaurant, a swimming pool, a nature center, interpretive programs, a museum, hiking trails, biking trails, and an ADA-accessible boardwalk. 

There is also a diverse variety of recreational activities that you can take part in. Dogs can visit this park as well, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay. During your stay at DeSoto State Park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Alabama Parks and Recreation System. 

Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home. Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to DeSoto State Park as this park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. 

Humans should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in DeSoto State Park. If you wish to camp, you must schedule a reservation. Reservations can be made on the park's main website or in the park's main office. Overall, this park is a fabulous place to visit. If you are in the area, make sure you come on down to check it out.
