Dog Run Park at Carlyle

Opened in 2009, the Dog Run Park at Carlyle has a separate area for small and large dogs to keep the little pooches happy and safe. This fenced almost three-acre park also has other amenities aside from the wonderland for dogs. Fairly manicured and well-maintained, it has become a favorite hangout of locals who love their canines and the outdoors.

There is a lot of gravel and grass for dogs to play on and roll on, so your furbuddy gets a good workout as well as enough socialization. There are nice benches available for pet parents to relax on while they watch over their furbabies and even make new friends who have the same interests. There are lights which make going there at night a lot more convenient and safer. 

Drinking water is available at the Dog Run Park at Carlyle so there is no need to bring extra water bottles for you and your furbaby. No dog scooper bags are available though, so pet parents must bring some and ensure that their dogs do not dirty up the park. There are trash receptacles all throughout so there is no reason to leave trash behind. 

No dogs in heat are allowed, as well as aggressive dogs and dogs that are younger than four months old. There have been instances of small dogs getting scared and nearly killed by bigger dogs, so pet parents need to keep a close lookout on their furbabies. Any bite that may occur to a person or a dog must be immediately reported to Alexandria Animal Control. 

Unleashed dogs should remain within the vicinity of the dog exercise area, as defined by the bollards. Park goers may have picnics in the park, but food is not allowed inside the fenced dog area. The responsible dog owners make the time in the park pleasant as well as their well-behaved dogs, so if you are in the Carlyle area with your furbaby, a visit is a must.
