This weekend might be a good time to take Fido to the Dog Wood Park in Jacksonville that’s reminiscent of a doggy wonderland. Picture 42 acres of a serene landscape all available for Fido’s play. Does Fido love to swim? At this park, Fido has his choice of doggy ponds and even a doggy lake where he can demonstrate his canine water skills.
If Fido loves to fetch, he will have a ball in the lush open fields where he can catch frisbees and tennis balls, which are provided at the park. And there’s more. Ten acres of this spectacular park lies within a majestic doggy forest so you and Fido can hike along the shady trails.
And Fido will feel like royalty when he uses the dog shower and plays in the large canine fountain. Depending on Fido’s size, there are separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs. If Fido wants to bring his puppy friend, as long as she’s at least 12 weeks old and spayed, she’s welcome to come too.
Fido can also let out his energy at the full agility course at the park. He will have a fantastic time running through the tunnels and leaping over obstacles while you sit on one of the many benches provided. There are a few things to keep in mind before you go.Â
Fido needs to be up to date on his vaccinations and license. And luckily Fido’s good-natured because aggressive dogs need to stay home. And even though there are poop bags on site, make sure you clean after Fido when he leaves his trademark pile of stinky poo.Â
After visiting the park, you might even want to take the kids to the playground or meet some friends at Dave and Buster's nearby. Or, if you want to stay late, there’s even a section of the park that stays lit up until 10 PM! You and Fido are bound to have a doggone good time at the Dog Wood Park of Jacksonville.
