In addition to the dog park, the 906-acre Hampton Lake community membership covers 24-hour access to a variety of facilities that include a clubhouse, a fitness center, a spa facility, swimming pools, golfing, boating and fishing.
There are a variety of nature trails that run throughout the Hampton Lake gated community, as well as a lake and campsites. Dogpaddle Park is the ideal location for a day outdoors with the family, especially since there are playgrounds for children as well and a popular location for socializing with those within the community.
The annual membership fees for Hampton Lake, which include access to the dog park and all of the above are $2650. Though the price is quite high, according to the Hampton Lake members it is worth the investment if you live in the area. On the other hand, if you are solely interested in the off-leash dog park, you can find free or cheaper parks in Bluffton.
The dog park provides an acre of land for dogs to play, exercise and socialize with their canine buddies in a single off-leash area. There is no small dog area. Although this means dogs get plenty of space to roam, please note that since both small and large dogs share the same space owners need to make sure their pooches are well-behaved and friendly towards others.
The park terrain is varied and features sand pits for digging, open space grassy areas for running and games of chase and earth mounds dogs can explore and sniff. There are water fountains that help keep the canines hydrated during playtime and a fire hydrant washing station that owners can use to hose off their dog’s paws and clean them up before heading home. The dog park is also equipped with picnic tables and benches, some of which are shelter, which is very convenient during the summer and helps keep the dog owners cool and comfortable.
