Playful pups can romp on-leash in a grassy field with their humans and furry furiends, and walk the paths between the sections. But another section is also on site where they can ditch the leash and really get playing! You can find the off-leash area marked by a mosaic featuring a ball and arrow that leads the way. While the entire park is surrounded by a perimeter fence consisting of a couple of chains between posts, these are not dog-proof, so it's important to practice good voice control and keep your pup in view at all times when off-leash.Â
Since so many doggos visit Duboce, there's also a "humans-only" section for folks who may not be comfortable around cavorting canines. For everyone's comfort, be sure to steer clear with your dog from this area and enjoy the rest of the park with your furry pal. All sections in the park are separated by walking paths. With its shade trees, kids' playground, and sunny fields, Duboce fills the bill for the whole family!
The park also offers two annual events you won't want to miss! Bring your fur baby to the Duboce Dog Fest and enter them into a competition for one of seven prizes like Best Costume, Best Mutt, Best Ears, and Best Lap Dog. Or attend Bark in the Park during SF Fleet Week, where K-9 rescue and military dogs take part in demonstrations and are recognized for their bravery.
A few rules to remember at Duboce Park Dog Play Area include standards like requiring pooches to be licensed and vaccinated for rabies. Picking up dog waste is another cardinal rule, but since the park doesn't provide free bags, be sure to remember to bring your own and leave nothing behind.Â
Be sure to visit the Duboce Park Dog Play Area if you're in the Lower Haight or Duboce Triangle neighborhoods! It's furtastic!
