Dusty Rhodes Dog Park (OB Dog Park)

The Dusty Rhodes Dog Park is located in the Ocean Beach neighborhood of San Diego, California. There is a parking lot close by the dog park. It is not permitted to park on the grass next to the large dog area. Doing so will result in a fine. 

This dog park is a stretch of open ground which has been designated by the San Diego authorities as an off-leash area for exercising dogs. It has a separate section for small dogs weighing under thirty pounds. Both sections have double gated staging areas.

The off-leash area is fully enclosed with waist-high chain-link fencing. It is a large and very open piece of ground which has a combination surface of grass, dirt, and gravel. There are several big trees in the small dog section which offer good shade on sunny days. The large dog section is more open to the elements. 

As it is a spacious field, owners should ensure they have their dog under good voice control and keep visual contact with them at all times. Water fountains and poop bag dispensers have been installed in the dog park. Although poop bags are supplied free of charge by a local company, it's recommended owners carry a few extra with them as cleaning up poop is obligatory.

To use the facility, pet owners must have licensed their dogs with the San Diego authorities and their dog should wear the tag on their collar at all times. All dogs' vaccinations must also be up to date. It is not permitted to exercise more than three dogs at once. 

Young children must be closely supervised by a responsible adult. It is not permitted for children to approach or pet another handler's dog without their specific permission. Food or drink of any kind, including dog treats, cannot be taken into the off-leash area. The San Diego authorities request all pet owners comply with the rules and help to keep the dog park clean and safe for all users.
