Phoenix is an area everyone loves to visit and live. It’s hot all year round and is virtually a desert filled with palm trees, red dirt, mountainous areas, and cacti. Echo Mountain Off-leash arena at Grover’s Park is located in Grover’s Basin and features two acres of green grass for your pup to play in and enjoy immensely. Finding grass in Arizona is sometimes seen as a luxury, which makes this such an ideal off-leash park.
The whole off-leash dog area in this Echo Mountain community is fenced in and has separate small and large dog areas for the safety of your pets. It is a medium-sized park with benches and some trees that provide little shade in this hot desert area. There is a drinking fountain to refill your dog bowl. Keep in mind that dogs can get dehydrated quite quickly in the Phoenix heat, so be sure to keep your pup well hydrated.
The park also provides doggie wastes bags for your convenience. While this off-leash dog park has some benches, there is not a whole lot of sitting areas, many guests who frequent this park bring their own lawn chairs or folding chairs with them. Your dog should be well-behaved, good with voice commands and vaccinated before entering the park. Also, your dog should be licensed according to the city ordinances.
Echo Mountain Off-leash Arena was a community-based project built by the Echo Mountain Neighborhood Coalition who wanted a safe and enjoyable dog park to go to. The park asks that you help maintain it by cleaning up after yourself and your dog. With the help of the community, this park will be around for years to come. So, if you are ever in the Phoenix area, take a day off and have a playdate with your pooch. You will be glad you did.
