RJ Dog Park (at Pecos Park)

You and Scruffy can pay tribute to a police dog that died in the line of duty by visiting the RJ Dog Park at Pecos Park in Phoenix, Arizona. The RJ Dog Park is named after a late police dog, and you will see a sign commemorating RJ upon entry.

Scruffy will love this two-acre fenced-in dog park with water fountains and lots of grass for running. Scruffy will also enjoy walking on the dirt patches while you sit at the covered picnic table within the park. Or, you can sit on one of the newly added benches.

Because there is a lot of dirt in this park, it often closes after heavy rainstorms. This prevents Scruffy from being knee-deep in mud. While Scruffy frolics in the park, you will have a beautiful view of the green open fields and concrete path nearby as well as the highway in the distance.

Bring the sunscreen because most of the park resides in the sun; however, there are a couple of small trees that provide a little shade. And visitors can sit under the shaded picnic table too. This dog park is within the much larger Pecos Park that has fun features like a playground and a pool with a waterslide. 

If you forget your poop bags, no problem; the park provides them. So make sure to contribute to the cleanliness of the park by scooping Scruffy’s poo. The dog rules are posted before entering, and so is a statement explaining that dog bites and fights may happen, but the park is not liable. You enter at your own risk.
