The entry fees for the park are $1 per day if you walk-in or bike in, $5 per day for vehicles Monday to Thursday, and $10 per vehicle Friday through Sunday. Doggos are free! There are additional fees if you'd like to check into the campgrounds and spend the night in the great outdoors. This park is Austin's one and only campground with a beach, and campers like to enjoy their days fishing, hiking, playing volleyball or basketball, swimming on the beach or boating on the river. There are also day use areas for picnicking, barbecue pits included.
Probably your pupper's favorite part will be scampering along the trails with their human. There is a 9.5-mile challenging outdoor motorcycle trail, but the trail all the dogs are barking about is the 2.5 mile Turkey Creek Trail because here they can go off leash. The City of Austin websites states that dogs should remain leashed in the rest of Emma Long Metropolitan Park. Along the trail, you'll find lots of free flowing creeks, rocky terrain, and beautiful trees. When there's water running in the creek, dogs can swim in several spots.
Dogs are welcome in this park with both paws as long as proper petiquette is followed. This includes following the leash rules, picking up after your pal, and making sure they remain respectful to all other humans and creatures. Bring any essentials with you, such as water and clean up bags.
Emma Long Metropalitan Park is truly a puppy paradise!
