Access to this public park is free of charge. This untouched natural treasure is hallmarked by gently sloping hills which traverse the park's many hiking trails. Littered throughout the terrain are creeks where dogs and their owners can enjoy a dip on a hot day. The property also houses two fully fenced play spaces suitable for off-leash play. One of the two enclosures is reserved specifically for use by small dogs. The dog runs occupy one acre of the property in total.
Also found within park limits are the following amenities: a baseball diamond, basketball and volleyball courts, and multiple pools and playgrounds. Barbecues, picnic tables, and shelters are scattered throughout the grounds and are available for public use. Plentiful trees provide shade for a restful lunch or snack. Bathroom facilities are not accessible at this park.
It is unknown if a potable water source is provided. To ensure that Fido is well-hydrated, it is recommended that owners bring a bottle of water and a suitable drinking vessel with them. It is also not known if complimentary poop bags are available on the premises. However, it is mandated that all owners pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste to help preserve the cleanliness of this stunning wooded space.
Though no official rules govern the use of this public park, it is advisable for all dogs to be current on vaccinations. In addition to this, it is wise for all dogs to bear the appropriate required state license tag on their collars. For a restful day reconnecting with nature, bring Fido and the family to Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park Off Leash Dog Area.
