To ensure small, shy, and senior dogs have a place well-suited to their needs and play styles, one of the enclosures is reserved for their use. Though off-leash play is encouraged at this dedicated dog facility, it is still necessary for owners to carry a leash as dogs must be on a lead when entering and exiting the grounds as well as in all other areas. Fairhope Dog Park is a public dog play haven.
To encourage as many dogs and their owners as possible to make use of the property, entrance is permitted at no cost. The dog runs are well-shaded, grassy areas which are spacious enough to allow ample room for some roughhousing, wrestling, or a vigorous run. Visitors to this park space note that the lawns are beautifully manicured. The dogs runs are complete with benches, water access, and poop bags.
The onus for all pet cleanup lies with owners. Park officials appreciate all assistance with helping them to maintain a clean and attractive park space for all to enjoy. Fairhope Dog Park does permit intact males to enjoy their dog playground areas; however, they must be very closely supervised at all times.
Additionally, entrance to the park is permitted upon proof of a current rabies vaccination and City of Fairhope pet license. Tags must be visible on each dog's collar. Fairhope Dog Park strictly prohibits the following items on their park grounds: food, toys, cigarettes, spike, choke, or prong collars. For a day of fun in the Alabama sun, plan a visit to Fairhope Dog Park!
