The park is pretty safe to park in, as it has a large parking lot with street lights and sidewalks, making it easier to get your leashed pup out and into the park without fear of other cars. Once inside, the main trail loops around the recreational center, which houses water fountains and public restrooms. The 6-foot wide trail then travels along the southern portion of the park, showing off grand features such as a pavilion, picnic area, playground, fenced-in tennis courts, basketball courts, a volleyball court, and grills.Â
Along the trail are benches and trash bins. The southern portion of the park only takes up about a third of the space, leaving an additional 22 acres of land to explore along nature and paved trails. Pathways lead to a small bridge that crosses over Prairie Creek, which cuts through the park, and leads to a baseball field surrounded by trees. There is more space to play in along the baseball field, and trails continue to the web through the rest of the trees, offering up a shaded and cool walking experience to get out of the Texas heat. Be sure to bring water to share with your adventurous pup, and clean up bags too!
Fireside Park is a community gem, and features a natural touch that will make you and your pup feel like you left the city limits of Dallas.
