Flaherty Dog Park

Flaherty Dog Park is located directly adjacent to Flaherty Park's baseball and softball diamonds in the town of Wake Forest, North Carolina. This dedicated dog facility is situated on slightly over two acres of land and boasts of a fully fenced enclosure designed for off-leash play. It is not known if there is an area reserved for small dog use. 

While the dog runs are designated off-leash zones, owners are required to retain a lead with them at all times in case of an emergency. In addition, they must leash their dogs when traveling to and from the play areas as well as in all other areas of Flaherty Park. Access to this doggy play haven is free of charge. It is unknown if bathrooms are available on-site for public use. Benches are provided throughout the property to allow owners a quiet space to relax while viewing their dogs at play. 

Flaherty Dog Park is also home to picnic tables with comfortable seating where families can enjoy a snack or light lunch. Fresh water is plentiful on the premises to ensure that Fido's hydration needs are met during his play time at the park. In addition to this, complimentary poop bags are provided on-site. Owners are mandated to pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste to help preserve the cleanliness of the park for all to enjoy.

Park officials require that all dogs attending this dog play space be current on vaccinations and bear an up to date rabies tag on their collars. Identification tags are also mandated by park management staff. It is strictly prohibited to bring alcohol anywhere on the premises, and smoking is restricted to the parking lot areas only. Additionally, food is not permitted in the play areas. For a great time burning off some steam in a tranquil setting, bring Fido for a run at Flaherty Dog Park!
