The Forest Meadow Park is actually a much older park, having been around since the late 1930s. You can't really see the age though, as the area is well-kept and the playground was redone not too long ago. Parking for the park is available on the west and north sides on off-street parking. Sidewalks connect the long and narrow park from both sides, and then encircle the play area where open space is available to play in. Once inside, you'll see a nice playground with swing sets, a rock wall, a picnic area, and grills. Trails loop around the playground and also offer access to water fountains, benches under the trees, and trash bins to use.
This is only a fraction of what the park is actually known for as only a small portion of it is taken up by the play area and open space. The rest of the park includes a large area of thick trees and dirt paths next to a lively creek. The creek has a fence to cut off people from entering it, but the sounds of its rushing water will still follow you as you travel on the trails, which are made from compacted soil and loop through the forest portion. This is probably one of the favoriteĀ features of the park, as it provides a nice and quiet place to walk Fido in the city.
With forest walks and room to play, Forest Meadow Park is an excellent choice for anyone looking to get outside and away from the busy city life.
