Frank Jackson State Park

Frank Jackson State Park enjoys a fabulous location near Opp, Alabama. The 2,050-acre park is perfect for camping, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, and stargazing. The entrance fees range between $2 and $4, yet it's free for kids under four years of age. You can pick to spend the night in a primitive camping site, a modern camping site or enjoy a cozy night at one of the camper cabins. However, it's best to make a reservation before you arrive at the park. 

Frank Jackson State Park also features excellent picnic areas, RV camping sites with a lake view and a modern bathhouse. In other words, the park features everything you need to make your trip as comfortable as possible. If you're craving some more privacy and quiet time, you can walk down the boardwalk that leads to a small island. 

Although fishing is the primary attraction, the park is excellent for hiking passionates as well. There are over three miles waiting to be explored. During your hike, you will get the chance to observe the wildlife closely and see breathtaking landscapes. To make it even more fun, take Fido with you. 

Nothing's more refreshing than a walk in the woods with your furry best friend. Make sure your pet is wearing a leash at all times during your stay at the park and try not to let Fido unsupervised for too long. Furthermore, always carry a potty bag in your backpack and clean after your dog.
