Grove Park Dog Run or Baxter Dog Park

The Abington Township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania is a small and tight-knit community just a few minutes north of Philadelphia. With some of the city’s development spilling into the area, there are plenty of things to do while still a decent amount of fresh air and open space to enjoy. 

If you happen to be in the area, and you also happen to own a dog, there are several local dog parks that you can enjoy, including the Grove Park Dog Run. Located near Willow Grove Park Mall, the dog park is an off-leash, fully enclosed area where dogs can meet and play together. Although small, the park is packed with amenities, including fun obstacles and toys for dogs to play with.

There are two separate enclosures in the Grove Dog Park Run; one for small dogs and one for large dogs, which you can utilize to make sure that your dog is playing with similar-sized friends. Although the township owns the park, it is kept up by an organization called Friends of Grove Park Dog Run. 

They help to ensure the dog park, also known as Baxter Dog Park, is improved and maintained, while also educating and providing resources to local dog owners. Thanks to their efforts, the park has been fully equipped with water fountains, benches, doggie bags, and small trees that offer dogs respite during intensive playtime.
