Harry S Moss Park

Harry S. Moss Park is a furrific 25-acre park that’s filled with trails you and your dog will both love! The park’s trails are used by both hikers and mountain bikers, and they take you through a picturesque forest. This park is a great place to go for a hike in northern Dallas!

The main parking lot for Harry S. Moss Park is behind Buckeyes Beverages, and the trail system begins right next to this parking lot. If this lot is full, there are also public parking lots by Dallas Fair Oaks Service Center, and at the corner of Walnut Hill Lane and Greenville Avenue.

Harry S. Moss Park has 5.25 miles of multi-use hiking/mountain biking trails, and these trails are divided into five loops that intersect with one another. These loops are the milelong Blue Loop, the 1.5-mile Orange Loop, the 0.4-mile Yellow Connector, the milelong Green Loop, and the 1.5-mile Purple Loop. These loops all go through a dense forest that’s filled with native trees, including oak, pecan, and elm trees. The trails also take you up a series of small hills, and there are seven wooden bridges throughout the trails.

If you’d like to extend your hike, the Harry S. Moss Park also has a series of equestrian trails you can explore with your pup. The park also connects with the pawpular White Rock Creek Trail in the northern end of the park. There’s no water available in the park, so it’s a good idea to bring plenty with you. There are also no doggy bags in the park—be sure to bring some with you so you can clean up after your pup while you’re trekking through the forest.
