At this time, there is not a separate enclosure designed for use by small, senior, or shy dogs; however, all dogs are welcome to join the fun in Hazel Parker Park Dog Run's one on-site play space. To ensure the safety of all dogs, park officials require that owners maintain ready access to a leash in case it is needed.
When not engaged in play in the designated off-leash zones, dogs must remain on a lead. Hazel Parker Park Dog Run is a public dog playground. Park officials proudly extend an invitation to all pooches and their people to enjoy their play area free of charge. The dog playground is essentially housed on a former baseball field. It is lined with red sand.
Some owners do note that the sand tends to discolor dog fur, and thus, a bath post-visit may be necessary. Water is contained on this 1-hectare property to ensure Fido has access to a drink when needed. There are no poop bags provided. With this in mind, owners should come prepared with extra bags to ensure they have access to some to use for pet cleanup.
Bathrooms are available on the grounds for public use. Hazel Parker Park Dog Run is also home to several recreational opportunities for families to enjoy. Among the on-site outdoor attractions are a playground, tennis courts, and a soccer field. There are no officially posted rules regarding the use of Hazel Parker Park Dog Run.
However, it is always advisable for dogs to be current on vaccinations. Most states also require that all dogs visiting public play spaces be in possession of an up to date city dog license.
