Horsham Dog Park is a public dog park located in the 71-acre Kohler Park in Ambler, Pennsylvania. In addition to the dog run, the park offers a variety of amenities and activities for the entire family. There is a fishing pond, a clubhouse, two playgrounds, walking trails, and several soccer fields. Needless to say, it is a great place to spend the day with the entire family, however, no children under 14 years of age are allowed in the off-leash dog area. The dog park was opened in October 2008 and has since become a very popular destination for the dog owners in the community. It can be found at the end of the path that goes by the Kohler Park’s pond.
This one and a half acre neighborhood dog park is securely fenced and provides plenty of space for dogs to get their daily dose of leash-free exercise and socialization. It has a separate area for smaller dogs (under 30 lbs) and keeps them safe from being accidentally trampled on by the bigger hounds. The dog park is equipped with several benches and shaded seating that enables owners to keep an eye on their canine companions as they play and make friends with the other four-legged patrons. The regulars are very welcoming and their dogs are friendly and well-behaved.
The Horsham Dog Park is lined with trees and covered in double processed, sterile playground mulch which is easier on the dog’s paws and safer than wood chips in case it is ingested. The park is very well maintained, which is not surprising since there are community clean-up events organized every month, as well as plenty of strategically placed trash cans. Make sure to bring your own waste bags and tidy up after your dog.
This cozy park is also equipped with a water fountain that keeps canines cool and hydrated. There are public restrooms nearby, as well as picnic tables, a pavilion, and a gazebo for shelter.
