Howarth Park

Howarth Park in Everett, Washington is a pawrific space to explore with your pup. This large park features forested areas and a beach, but the best part is the dog beach!

For the hikers in your pack, the park is expansive and features lots of areas to walk. So long as your dog stays leashed on a lead no longer than 10 feet, they can join you in all areas of this puptastic park. Trails meander through the trees and open areas. Tennis courts beckon the sports fans, while the playground gives the little humans a place all their own. Picnic tables can be found throughout the park for a rest or a meal. In the middle of the park, a viewpoint of Everett Port is a sight to behold. 

For the water lovers, a spiral staircase leads directly to the beach which offers stunning views of both the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. You'll want to head to the north beach, which not only allows dogs, but lets them run off leash! You can find this area down the staircase over the railroad tracks to the right, where you'll see a sign posted for the off leash area. Once here, you can take off the leash and let your dog romp in the sand and splash in the water. Logs make for furbulous seating areas, and clean-up bags and trash cans on site offer a convenient way to pick up after your pup. 

Do note that there are no physical barriers around the off leash area, so be sure your dog is good under voice control, and always keep them within sight. Drinking water is available in other areas of the park, so its best to bring your own to the beach for your thirsty pup. Human restrooms are also available in the western section of the park.
