Description

The Hunter Street Park offers 12-acres of pawtastic outdoor fun! Sports fans love the ball field and batting cages, while walkers can be found on the paved trails. With a playground and skate park, there's a lot for every member of the family. And for your canine bestie, there's even an off leash space just for them!

Whether big or small, dogs love the Hunter Street Dog Park in the southeast corner of the park, near the intersection of Ambergate Station and Hunter Street, and across from the skate park. Spread over 2-acres, a small dog section takes up about 0.5-acres of it to give little pooches a safe place to play. While there aren't any official size limits, generally dogs under 22 pounds use the small dog area, while larger dogs use the bigger section. However, as long as everyone is considerate, any size pupper can be in either section. Both areas are fully fenced, and offer a soft woodchip terrain.

A large part of the park is open, but there are plenty of trees and pavilions for furbulous shady spots to get a respite from the sun. Benches are scattered throughout, giving you many places to relax while keeping an eye on your dog. On site water fountains ensure everyone stays hydrated, and waste stations are available to help make clean-up easy. Restrooms can be found in other areas of Hunter Street Park. And of you and your dog are night owls, you'll love the lighting once the sun goes down.

Before visiting this pupperdise with your canine pal, they'll need to be vaccinated and licensed, and wearing their tags on their collars. You'll also need to apply for a membership which gives you a year of access to this dog park, and the Apex Nature Dog Park too! You can apply online, and will need proof of your dog's current rabies vaccination, it's tag number and expiration date, and the yearly fee. For residents, a pass for one dog is $30, or you can register 2 dogs for $50. Non-residents pay a bit more at $60 for one dog, and $100 for two dogs. If you'd like to register more dogs, you'll need to submit a separate application, but note that you can only bring two dogs at a time to either dog park.

When your dog needs some off leash fun, head to the furbulous Hunter Street Dog Park today!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
