If you and your pooch are regular road trippers, you know the impawtance of convenient dog friendly rest stops. Next time you are traveling westbound near Eutaw, Alabama on Interstate 20, you will find one of these pawsome pit stops at mile marker 39. Pull over so your pooch can move their four legs and breathe in some fresh air.
Your doggo may be a furrific car companion, but you know they
can’t resist the chance to get out of the vehicle and check out some new
surroundings. This lovely rest area has large patches of grass and flowering bushes.
During the warm months the tall trees
provide much needed shade for two legged and four legged visitors. Plus there
are paved walkways. So go ahead and take your dog for a stroll so they can bark
(and mark) up a tree. Chances are they’ll encounter some of the local
squirrels. And they will definitely find some sticks. This park also has water
fountains. So after a puptastic walk your furry BFF can rehydrate. But don’t
let them drink too much or you’ll be stopping again in a couple hours!
As far as amenities go, this rest stop has a shelter that
houses a wide variety of vending machines. So if you are feeling a bit peckish,
you can get some snacks and a drink. Of course there are bathrooms and drinking
fountains. Maps are available for those needing some guidance. Stopping by
around lunch time? Unpack your sandwich and settle in at one of the picnic
tables or shelters. If you happen to arrive in the evening, you’ll notice the
pawperty is well lit and feels very safe. Don’t forget to pick up after your pupster.
No bones about it, your furry traveler will appreciate a
walk around this pawsome roadside park!
