Jiggs Askew Memorial Bark Park

Jiggs Askew Memorial Bark Park is located in Burlington, North Carolina. This much-loved dog playground finds its home directly behind the local YMCA, making it easy for owners to find. Housed on two acres of property, Jiggs Askew Memorial Bark Park is comprised of two fenced runs where dogs can engage in off-leash activity. With an eye to the needs of small and elderly dogs, one enclosure has been designed specifically for their use. 

Here, dogs will find other canine friends of similar size and energy, making them ideal play companions. Off-leash play is encouraged at Jiggs Askew Memorial Bark Park; however, safety precautions must be observed. As such, it is mandatory for owners to have a leash with them at all times. Additionally, dogs must remain on a lead when not in a designated off-leash zone. 

Jiggs Askew Memorial Bark Park is a public facility; however, registration is required to gain access to the grounds. There is no fee, but owners are required to complete and submit an application and waiver. Owners wishing to register a dog for Jiggs Askew Memorial Bark Park must visit the Burlington Recreation and Parks Department between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. 

The dog runs at Jiggs Askew Memorial Bark Park are complete with all of the things Fido needs for a day of fun. Drinking water is provided to ensure Fido and his favorite canine pals have access to a cool drink when needed. Also found within the play areas is plentiful bench-style seating where owners can relax and enjoy some moments of quiet reflection while observing their dogs playing. 

It is unknown if poop bags are provided on the grounds. The onus for the removal of all pet waste materials lies with each owner. It is also not known if bathrooms for public use are housed on the property. Jiggs Askew Memorial Bark Park warmly welcomes all dogs and their owners to visit their doggy play haven. There are a few rules in place governing the use of this public play space. 

All dogs visiting the park must display identification tags which include their name, the name of their owner, and any pertinent contact information.
