One of the first things your pup will notice about the park is the furrific scenery. The park looks right out into the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and when the sky is free of fog your pal can see all the way to Victoria, British Columbia. During inclement weather, storm watching is a pupular activity at Joseph Whidbey State Park. The churning dark clouds and crashing waves create a pawsome show!
Not only does this park have a beautiful beach, it also has two large multi-use fields that your leashed doggo can sniff around. Let them be the guide as you roam around. There are also 6.5 miles of trails worth checking out. Fido will absolutely love getting their exercise while wandering through the lush wetlands and forest. Picnic facilities are available, so bring a sandwich and stick around for lunch. Just don’t forget to pack a biscuit or two for your furry BFF!
To access the park you need to purchase a Discovery Pass. A day pass is $10.00, but if you live in the area or plan on returning frequently, consider investing in a yearly pass for $30.00. Your dog will greatly appreciate it! Be sure to carry some water and don't forget clean up bags. Restrooms are available. Be aware that the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island is located nearby. It’s not uncommon for U.S. Navy jets to fly over the park. Don’t worry; the beauty of the park will distract your pup from the loud noise. This is one park your doggo will want to visit again and again!Â
