This park is open seasonally from April through October. There are many on-site amenities to enhance the family camping experience. Playgrounds are available for use by younger children while cross-country skiing and rigorous hiking might be of more interest to adolescents and their parents. Excellent trout, bluegill, and bass fishing can be found at Kooser Lake.Â
Also near to the campgrounds are bathrooms and laundry facilities. A picnic pavilion is also available to provide respite from the hot summer sun while enjoying a light lunch or snack. Picnic areas contain fire pits, barbecues, and picnic style seating. Waste dumping stations are also accessible on site for those traveling with RVs. It is important to note that Kooser State Park does not permit alcohol on the premises. Firewood is available for purchase on site. It is strictly prohibited to bring out of state firewood into the park as it can potentially carry then spread harmful disease.
Access to this state park is available free of charge for those making use of campsites, but there is a nominal fee for those renting cabins. Dogs are permitted in all areas of the park but must remain on a lead at all times. It is required that all dogs be current on all vaccinations and under direct owner supervision while on the property. Pets are prohibited from swimming areas and are also restricted from entering public buildings. Kooser State Park officials reserve the right to limit each family to only two pets per camping facility.
Water is provided on-site to help keep Fido hydrated. Poop bags are not provided; however, it is mandatory that all dog owners properly pick up dispose of their dog's waste materials.
