Formerly known as Youth Park, Lafayette Dog Park has relocated to Horse Farm since 2013. The park's previous location is now a parking lot, while the new property features a fully fenced, off-leash area for large and small dogs to romp around and play with each other. It is also known as Moncus Park.Â
The ground is full of grass, but there are also several dirt patches looping the park area so it can get a little muddy during the rainy season. Lafayette Dog Park has a separate small dog section situated in the back, providing all dogs with the opportunity to run off-leash and play together in a well maintained and clean neighborhood park.
Another bonus point is the obstacle course featuring agility equipment, which owners can use to teach their dogs different tricks. There is also drinking water available on site, as well as benches, lights for night use and large trees surrounding the park perimeter. Apart from this, Lafayette Dog Park is well-known for its friendly and welcoming community, making the property even more enjoyable for owners and their dogs alike.
There are plenty of waste bags provided, so visitors can pick up after their pups and maintain the area in the best condition possible. Other features include trash cans, a dog pool as well as plenty of parking available. As a gated property, Lafayette Dog Park also features dog rules and park guidelines that all visitors need to be aware of.Â
Make sure your pup is vaccinated and licensed to enter the Lafayette Dog Park at Horse Farm Park premises and be able to play with the other animals in the area. It is also important for dogs to be under the complete voice control of their handlers at all times. Dogs must also be sociable and non-aggressive at all times.
If you and your four-legged friend are looking for a great park to exercise or socialize your furry companion while enjoying the benefits of a friendly community, look no further than Lafayette Dog Park at Horse Farm Park. It may just become your favorite place to go.
