Lowell Dog Park is an off-leash area in a small fenced enclosure located north of the tennis courts in Lowell Park. It is best suited for local residents who need an off-leash area for their beloved canines. Let your beloved canine sniff to his heart’s content in unhindered areas but do make sure that you pick up after your pets should they decide to do their business in the park. Getting to the park is quite easy. From I-5 just exit at 41st Street then head east and then turn south on 3rd Avenue and you will be in the park.
The park is equipped with double-gated airlock entrances for safety, benches where dog owners can relax after a run with their dogs, a garbage can, and stocked poop bags. Grassy, well-kept, and clean, the slopes are ideal for playing ball with your dog. However, it can get really muddy when there is rain. There is also a beautiful one-mile on-leash trail in Lowell Park that follows the river.
The park, however, does not have water faucets so be sure to fill your own water container before going to the park with your pooch. However, the park does have a water spigot for your dog when he gets thirsty. There are picnic tables where you can enjoy your snacks by yourself or with your friends while your beloved pooch runs about and enjoys himself. Restrooms are available for the public to use.
Lowell Dog Park is close to downtown and one of the most basic dog parks. It is a less busy place compared to other dog parks in the area, although it is also the perfect place to head to when you are pressed for time and it would not be unusual to see your neighbors there too with their fur babies.
